Ruppert Companies is multi-faceted conglomerate that needed several layers of computer support to make operations hum. Tough Guy Computing has managed the Ruppert Companies' IT infrastructure and growth since 1999, providing day-to-day troubleshooting, on-site administration and hardware installation to handle the growing business.
Over the years, Tough Guy Computing has designed and installed dozens of workstations and associated network printers. They designed and installed Internet connection solutions at each office location, ranging from ISDN routers to DSL/Cable and T-1 routers and Sonic firewalls.
Ruppert Companies runs off of Tough Guy Computing's server solution five servers operating out of the main office. Tough Guy provided project management for the company's major upgrade from a Windows NT-based network to a Windows 2000 server, a deployment that resulted in zero downtime for the company's operations. Tough Guy is helping protect the company's servers with its White Knight Anti-Spam solution installed on a Tough Guy-installed MS Exchange 5.5 email server.
The Ruppert Companies faced a significant issue with its geographically diverse and mobile workforce. Tough Guy Computing launched a BlackBerry Enterprise server for 20-plus employees, allowing them to remain in contact via email across the country.
Tough Guy's Custom Management Software Integration helped the Ruppert Companies cut costs and retain more profits. Tough Guys developed a solution that contains labor costs and tracks daily job costs. The new solution allows field employees to enter time and tasking information through an online portal, instead of turning in a paper form that required manual data entry. The information entered online is matched with the company's financial software solution that produces automatic next-day reports that managers and supervisors use to make better and more profitable decisions.
